Tunnel Mound Comeback
The plumb gallery, Toronto
July/August 2025

Tunnel Mound Comeback presented works made with “invasive” plant species by Elena Kirby (Toronto), Masumi Rodriguez (Montréal), with invited artists Emi Takahashi (Montréal) and Bhavika Sharma (Toronto), curated by Emerald 邹佑 (Toronto). The exhibition invited the audience to contemplate our relationship with “invasive” plants as urban dwellers, placing quotation marks on the word “invasive” to leave room to think about how this word informs our relationship to these plants, and the ways we use it outside of a plant context. For the duration of the exhibition, we programmed a bi-weekly processing session to invite the audience to process the dog-strangling vine plant material while sharing a room with  invited speakers.
