Dousabiki Processing Guide

Ingredient: Nikawa (protein), myoban (alumn)
*note: dosabiki is a protein based treatment that can be coated onto paper. It helps make the paper water-resistant, less-likely to be pilly (fluffy). This treatment is beneficial if the paper will attract people to touch the material.*

Boil

  • Bring water to boil

  • Add nikawa → let it melt completely

  • Bring water to simmer

  • Add myoban → let it melt completely

~ 20 minutes
Brush on paper

  • Brush the liquid onto paper

  • Let it dry
